Paranormal Activity 3 will serve as prequel to series PDF Print E-mail

It is official! Paramount Pictures is releasing a third film in its critically acclaimed series of Paranormal Activity.

In true style, the film will be released on Oct. 21st – only a week and two days from Halloween. While the last film left viewers glued to their seats with terrifying chills, fans now await Paramount’s newest arrival in hopes of seeing a successful continuance of the series, along with (as is expected) an increase in fright.

Set in 1988, well before the occurrences of the second film, Paranormal Activity 3 will highlight the events surrounding Katie (Katie Featherston) and Kristi (Sprague Grayden) Rey’s first experiences with the mysterious and unknown entity.

Young and full of life, the inseparable sisters have much to learn about the consequences of provoking malevolent, otherworldly beings.

Assuming that you have already seen the two previous films, the outcome is obvious…which is why the directors, Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman, are transporting us back into time, where we will view the origins of the trilogy. Although the names behind the helm are different, the film will maintain the same spliced-together, home footage style that so greatly intensifies the effects of the scenes.

However, due to the fact that the ultimate conclusion of the series is already known, the structuring of the in-film peril and tension will be on the shoulders of the joint directorship.

Nevertheless, expectations are high. After all, it is the Halloween season and there is no better way to enjoy it than to watch a scary movie.

So this October, grab a bunch of your friends and some popcorn, and get ready for some freaky shudders!
