After capturing the hearts and votes of people everywhere on season seven of American Idol, heartthrob Jason Castro released his self-titled CD in April of 2010.

Much to the excitement of his many fans, the album is full of the cheery tunes and honest lyrics that permanently placed the humble singer-songwriter into so many hearts.

The playful single “Let’s Just Fall In Love Again” encourages reigniting the spark in a relationship. Teaming up with the talented Serena Ryder in “You Can Always Come Home,” the singer promises a lost love a place to return in the case of a broken heart.

The bluesy approach to “Love Uncompromised” shows off a bit of versatility from the acoustic sound that colors a majority of the CD. Taking on Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah” shot him to popularity on Idol, so it is only fitting that this haunting melody would be included in Castro’s first full length album release.

The comforting ring of the acoustic guitar, beautiful lyrics, and the unique vocal styling of this dreadheaded Texan cutie combine to make one very enjoyable listening experience.
