There are some faces around the Arkansas Tech campus that every student should be familiar with. First of all, students living on campus need to know who their resident assistant is. This is the student on each floor who posts all of the cute decorations in the hallways and on the room doors, holds hall meetings and plans fun activities for students on that particular floor. They are the ones who are available to answer any questions that students may have and, as a bonus, they live right down the hall. Students should also be familiar with organizations that represent students on campus, as well as the students who are in leadership positions. The Student Government Association is important because it is a direct line between students and university administration. Want to see changes made on Tech’s campus? This is the group to seek out. Roger Norman is SGA president, and obviously he is an important person to know. It is more important, though, for students to get acquainted with their class senators. These are the students who have been voted into office, specifically by the members of each class, to serve that particular class. For freshmen, that means getting to know your freshmen senators, who were elected earlier this week. Another organization that is important to be familiar with is the Student Activities Board. That organization is made up of students who are the ones responsible for many of the fun activities that take place on campus, such as the movie nights and the Tech Rave that was held last week. |
