February and March bring in not only a new season of weather across the globe, but a new season of high fashion. The Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week for Fall 2008 fashion is set to begin March 9.

Milan, Paris, London, and New York are homes to the fashion industry’s most important catwalk and runway shows. It began in 1943 in New York to steal the attention from French fashion and allow American fashion journalists to draw the eye toward the designers in the United States.

After the war’s end, many journalists turned back to Paris, Milan, and London, but New York still helps control the fashion calendar of the year. Some cities in the United States have a smaller, less-renowned fashion week, such as Los Angeles and Miami.

The United States is kicking off the week with Imasu by Kelly Nishimoto, according to www.Mbfashionweek.com. Some other featured designers include Lauren Conrad, Samora, Ashley Paige, The Pussycat Dolls, and Octavio Carllin.
