| Bulen to perform trombone skills at Tech Sunday |

Dr. Jay C. Bulen, chair of the Truman State University Department of Music, will demonstrate his skills on the trombone and bass trombone during a concert at Arkansas Tech University on Sunday.. The concert will begin at 2:30 p.m. inside Witherspoon Auditorium in Russellville. Kazuo Murakami will accompany Bulen on piano. Admission will be free and open to the public. Bulen is a professor of music at Truman State and has served on the music faculty of the Kirksville, Mo., campus since 1995. He assumed the duties of chair of the Truman State Department of Music in 2006. A graduate of the California Institute of the Arts, Arizona State University and the University of Washington, Bulen served two years as principal trombone in the Orquesta Sinfonica Nacional in Quito, Ecuador. He has also appeared with the Kansas City Symphony, the Seattle Symphony Orchestra, the Seattle Opera and the Phoenix Symphony.
