Tucker Coliseum held a season-high 2,125 fans as the Arkansas Tech Golden Suns claimed first place in the Gulf South Conference West Division standings following a 72-62 victory over the third-ranked Delta State Lady Statesmen.

With the win, the Suns improve to 21-2 overall and 11-1 in conference play and are fourth in this week's poll.

Delta State is also 21-2 and 10-2 in GSC play.

The Suns led for much of the first half, and ended the half with a 36-32 lead, led by Natalia Santos with 12 points.

In the second half, senior guard Laura Beth Anderson stepped up and made some big shots down the stretch.  Anderson finished the game with a career-high tying 19 points, while Santos finished with her eighth double-double of the season with 18 points and 10 rebounds before fouling out with 2:40 left in the game.

Jenny Vining added nine points and six assists, and Jessica Weatherford chipped in with eight points.

The Suns finished the game shooting 48 percent from the field and 38 percent from beyond the arc.

The Golden Suns return to action tonight as they travel to Searcy to face Harding (17-7 overall, 8-4 GSC) in a 5:30 contest at Rhodes Fieldhouse.
