Arkansas Tech Women’s Cross Country remained fourth in this week’s latest NCAA Division II South Regional rankings that are compiled by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Associaton (USTFCCCA).

Tech was ranked fourth in the Preseason Division II South Regional rankings that were released prior to the beginning of the season, before being ranked fourth in the past seven regular season polls.

The USTFCCCA NCAA Division II region poll will be released every week during the regular season. The poll ranks the Top 10 men’s and women’s cross country teams in each of the eight NCAA regions. Eight regional representatives coordinate the voting in their region with input from the coaches.

Tech remained fourth this week after being idle from competition this past weekend.

Tampa, the three-time defending South Regional champions, continues to headline this week’s seventh regular season poll and the Spartans are followed by Alabama-Huntsville, who remains at No. 2 and Harding is at No. 3 once again this week.

Following Tech in the poll is Palm Beach Atlantic at No. 5, while West Florida falls one spot to No. 6 and Delta State falls one spot to No. 7. West Alabama drops one spot to No. 8 and the Tigers are followed by Nova Southeastern at No. 9 and Valdosta State at No. 10.

Tech will return to action this weekend when they compete at the 2010 Gulf South Conference Championship Meet on Saturday. This year’s meet will once again be held at Veterans Park in Hoover, Ala.
