Why is Nabil Ali Mohamed pictured on Google Doodle?

Nabil Ali Mohamed has been developing programs for computational linguistics in Egypt. It’s thanks to him, there appeared first computers with an ability to understand Arabic.
Today this amazing person is turning 82. That’s why the Google Doodle development team has decided to celebrate him by adding a special picture to the Google homepage.
They pictured Nabil Ali Mohamed with an old image effect, where he stands next to a computer that displays a phrase in Arabic. Antique color gradation was also used to age the picture.
Nabil Ali Mohamed was born in Cairo in 1938. After working for more than 20 years for the Egyptian Air Force, he became involved in computers and electronics.
He has published several books on computational linguistics and received many awards.
