My first and only president: Jimmy Carter refused of money for the Carter Center
By: Margaret Wilson
The 39-th President of the USA Jimmy Carter refused of all the money which has been sent to the Carter Center and urged to send the sums to other people. The colleague of Ronald Reagan, Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford seems to forget about Iran and US elections thinking about coronavirus only!
Jimmy Carter addressed all the donors asking them not to send their money to the Carter Center, but put them to those who have been fighting the coronavirus outbreak.
The former president and his wife wrote a letter to supporters and asked them to redirect their funds to those who had been trying to reduce the spreading of coronavirus. The politician especially urged to support this kind of workers and organizations as they are the only ones who really could help with fighting the unknown threat.
According to his words, COVID-19 is dangerous because it's not known well.
Perhaps, Jimmy Carter's idea is right as last year, for example, the Carter Center's auction gathered about $ 4 mln from the supporters. This probably will help this year too. What do you think?
