Leonardo DiCaprio expressed his happiness about saving Española giant tortoises that were extincting in the 1970s. The species has survived due to sexually active tortoise named Diego.
These days Leo has shared a news on his Instagram page informing that despite the shortage of the species of the Española giant tortoise to about a dozen in the 1970s with the majority of female individuals, extinction was stopped. Diego was flown from the San Diego Zoo and due to his sexual activity has fathered over 800 offsprings.
DiCaprio’s followers are pleased with this amazing news. Some of them are sure that it is animal agriculture that is to blame. It should be mentioned that the actor organized the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation in 1998 in order to save our planet.
